Tax Accountant Retail

About This Role

Serving in-person customers who use Intuit Turbo Tax products, the Tax Accountant provides full-service tax return preparation, tax advice, calculations, and software/product support. This role combines tax expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and community engagement to help customers navigate their tax needs, empowering them to achieve positive financial outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Enthusiastically represent Turbo Tax locally, serving as a fixture and public face of Turbo Tax in the community
• Engage with new prospects, nurture leads, and convert prospects into long-term clients through proactive outreach
• Lead and participate with the support of Turbo Tax in local marketing, making the topic of taxes accessible and approachable
• Give hands-on tax advice and complete preparation services for Turbo Tax customers, handling simple to complex tax situations (e.g., personal and business income, deductions optimization, amendments)
• Facilitate discovery sessions and tax reviews to uncover deductions, minimize tax liabilities, maximize refunds, and provide future tax planning advice
• Utilize resources such as government websites, professional tools, and team expertise to deliver accurate tax solutions in personalized everyday language
• Create an exceptional customer experience through professionalism and genuine interest in helping clients achieve their financial goals (e.g., saving for retirement, college funds, weddings, or vacations)
• Connect with people to build the long-term trust that turns a one-time transaction into a loyal, multi-year relationship
• Interact with customers both in-person and through Intuit's state-of-the-art video communication tools
• Address client inquiries while helping them overcome tax-related challenges

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted EA, CPA, or attorney license with strong tax preparation experience with deep knowledge of tax law preferred
• Active Preparer Tax
