A well-established public accounting firm in Tucson is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join its collaborative Tax Department. This position will prepare a variety of tax returns, support tax-planning activities, and serve as a trusted resource for clients and internal team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare individual, business, trust, estate, and gift tax returns
- Complete multi-state filings
- Conduct quarterly tax planning for businesses and individuals
- Review financial statements and supporting documentation for accuracy
- Research and resolve tax questions and compliance issues
- Communicate with federal, state, and local taxing authorities
- Partner with clients and colleagues to ensure timely, accurate filings
Qualifications
- CPA or Enrolled Agent license, or actively pursuing licensure
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
- At least five years of tax-preparation experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP
- Proficiency with Excel, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and PDF software
- Tax-preparation software experience preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and accurately in a paperless environment
