Swim Instructor

About This Role

This role at the Rosen Aquatic and Fitness Center involves providing skill-based swim and water safety instruction to people of all ages. The instructor will supervise students, build positive relationships, and promote their potential within the program.

Responsibilities

• Deliver swim and water safety instruction to students of all ages
• Maintain constant supervision to ensure the safety of all students
• Plan and implement program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with our values
• Foster positive, nurturing relationships with students
• Build cooperative relationships with parents and caregivers
• Promote the potential of all students within the program
• Adhere to program standards, including safety and cleanliness standards, and ensure consistency with evidence-based practices
• Facilitate peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall program experience
• Uphold the company's drug-free, tobacco-free, and nicotine-free policies within the workplace
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum one year of previous experience working as a Swim Instructor or Lifeguard
• Sound knowledge of proper swimming techniques and water safety rules
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. infrequently
• Must be able to legally work in the USA

Nice to have:

• High school diploma or GED
• American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or Basic Swim Instructor (BSI) certifications
• CPR certification
• First Aid certification

• Schedule: Minimum of two weekdays per week between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM
