About the role

Duties

The individual selected for this position will:

  • Coordinate a variety of tasks required in the collection, control, field review, and report statistical data obtained in a major survey or combination of surveys.
  • Provide technical assistance to field staff by using automated tools including locating addresses and/or respondent search through the internet or other search applications including mapping software.
  • Perform automated searches for case status, documentation for case outcomes, and following up with field staff on missing or inadequate case information.
  • Establish working relationships with all levels of management, external parties, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience:

For the GS-05, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service.

Experience for this position includes providing office support to a staff and performing clerical duties such as, mass mailings, file system management, telephone monitoring, and maintain program forms and office files; maintaining survey materials, control files, computing ratios, and preparing computerized reports; using Google search or similar search engines, MapQuest or applications similar to YellowPages.com, Fast Data and Yahoo; using databases such as Access or Excel, conducting searches on specific data elements; reviewing case outcomes and determining if adequate information is provided or if additional follow up is needed; or working and dealing with multiple customer demands in a professional environment.

OR

4 years of post high school education.

NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable.

Advancement to positions up to GS-05: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to the GS-05 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest nontemporary competitive appointment.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
