Middle Tennessee | $85K+ Base + Bonus

About the Company

A growing, mid-sized surveying and engineering firm in Middle Tennessee is looking to add a key leader to its team. The company has a strong backlog of work, a stable client base, and is actively investing in building out its internal survey/CAD capabilities. This hire will play a big role in shaping that growth.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on leadership role;not just production. You'll be responsible for leading CAD and survey operations while developing junior team members and setting the standard for quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage CAD and survey technicians (entry to mid-level)
  • Train and develop junior staff into productive contributors
  • Process drone/UAV data, topo surveys, and surface models
  • Oversee drafting for grading, utilities, and construction layouts
  • Ensure quality control, accuracy, and project timelines
  • Coordinate with field crews and project managers
  • Establish workflows, standards, and best practices
  • Troubleshoot issues and improve overall team efficiency

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in surveying, CAD, or civil/site development
  • Strong Civil 3D (Auto-CAD) proficiency
  • Experience with UAV/drone data (Pix4D, DroneDeploy, etc.)
  • Background in training or mentoring others
  • Understanding of grading, utilities, and construction layout
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Nice to Have

  • Leadership or supervisory experience
  • FAA Part 107 license
  • Experience with GPS, robotic total stations, and field-to-finish workflows
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
