CAD / Survey Manager
Middle Tennessee | $85K+ Base + Bonus
About the Company
A growing, mid-sized surveying and engineering firm in Middle Tennessee is looking to add a key leader to its team. The company has a strong backlog of work, a stable client base, and is actively investing in building out its internal survey/CAD capabilities. This hire will play a big role in shaping that growth.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on leadership role;not just production. You'll be responsible for leading CAD and survey operations while developing junior team members and setting the standard for quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage CAD and survey technicians (entry to mid-level)
- Train and develop junior staff into productive contributors
- Process drone/UAV data, topo surveys, and surface models
- Oversee drafting for grading, utilities, and construction layouts
- Ensure quality control, accuracy, and project timelines
- Coordinate with field crews and project managers
- Establish workflows, standards, and best practices
- Troubleshoot issues and improve overall team efficiency
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in surveying, CAD, or civil/site development
- Strong Civil 3D (Auto-CAD) proficiency
- Experience with UAV/drone data (Pix4D, DroneDeploy, etc.)
- Background in training or mentoring others
- Understanding of grading, utilities, and construction layout
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Nice to Have
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- FAA Part 107 license
- Experience with GPS, robotic total stations, and field-to-finish workflows
- Strong communication and organizational skills
