About the role

Duties

The primary purpose of this Air Reserve Technician (ART) Enlisted position is to serve as a Supply Technician reviewing policies, methods, and procedures of maintenance/supply interface and briefing the Group Commander/Senior ART, branch supervisors, and other personnel on changes/requirements in correlation with base-wide supply meetings.  As such, the incumbent of this position will perform the following duties:

  • Inspect and evaluate supply management activities, provide guidance, and recommend corrective action.
  • Determine need for individual and group training, and arrange for facilities, training aids, and instructors
  • Determine and forecast supply requirements for long and short range maintenance programs.
  • Maintain supply records/files/logs and prepare original letters, reports, and messages for supervisory review and signature in support of unit's supply requirements.
  • Operate the Integrated Maintenance Data System, which provides on-line access to a data base containing organization, equipment, mission, and status date.

Qualifications

You must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or qualifying pay band under other pay systems in the Federal Service which has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities as shown below required to successfully perform the duties of the position. Typically this experience would involve providing supply operations support pertaining to specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts requiring unusual degrees of protection in shipment and storage. (To be creditable, specialized experience must meet the above quality level requirements)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): (1) Knowledge of the procedures and organizational structure of warehouse management/material storage management and/or inventory operations. (2) Ability to requisition supplies, assign priorities and initiate follow-up-procedures. (3) Ability to interpret and/or develop supply material control procedures and guidance. (4) Ability to review/evaluate supply functions and initiate corrective actions. (5) Ability to interpret and/or analyze supply data products.
