About the role

Duties

The incumbent of this position will serve as the supply technician for Lyndon B. Johnson NHP with the responsibility for maintaining property records and reports, property accounting, and the overall property management.  This includes the electronic maintenance of property records through FBMS, maintaining personal property inventory systems of records, and the adherence of established standards for property acquisition, utilization, accountability and disposal.  This position is also responsible for providing direction and guidance to custodial officers and the Accountable Property Officer to ensure adherences to standards are followed and to maintain an accurate accountable property inventory.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**The work is mostly sedentary but requires some standing, bending, lifting, and walking to conduct inventories and disposal actions. 

**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**The work is performed in an office setting with some time spent in field locations.

**AREA INFORMATION/HOUSING INFORMATION:**The Johnson City/Stonewall area is located in the central part of Texas in what is known as the Texas Hill Country.  The spring wildflower season draws thousands of visitors who enjoy area attractions and scenic drives throughout the countryside.  It is a rural area.  Population of Johnson City is approximately 1,700. The altitude is approximately 1,500 feet above sea level.  Summers are hot, daytime temperatures average from 90 – 100 degrees F.  Winters are mild, highs averaging 50-60 degrees F with lows occasionally dipping into freezing.   Shopping, medical, recreation and school facilities are available in Johnson City as well as the nearby communities of Blanco, Fredericksburg, and Marble Falls.  Many more opportunities are available in the cities of San Antonio, located approximately 60 miles south and Austin, the State Capital, located approximately 50 miles east.  Area monthly rental rates are from $1200-$1600. Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement, Thursday, June 15, 2017. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sectors. QUALIFICATIONS: To be eligible for this position, you must possess the qualifying specialized experience and/or education as described in the occupational/assessment questionnaire and as outlined below. One year of experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade in the federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience which provided a thorough knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to supply management. Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and providing supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts. Experience performing routine aspects of supply work.  Experience with property utilization and inventory, electronic maintenance of records using an automated data base, and processing of documents for acquisitions or disposal of property.

As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.

Time-in-Grade Requirements: Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. This requires applicants who have held a GS position at any time within the past 52 weeks to have served at least 52 weeks at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for this occupation.

EDUCATION:
Generally, education is not creditable above GS-05 under this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate is directly related to the work of the position.
