About the role

What To Expect The Tesla EMEA Indirect Procurement team is looking for a highly motivated Supply Chain Manager to support procurement for Engineering Services, Supplies and Equipment across the broader EMEA region. You will partner closely with Engineering, Facilities, Finance, and operations stakeholders to source and manage complex service, supplies and equipment spend — from engineering consultancies, test and lab services, and specialized technical support through to engineering equipment, tooling, and infrastructure investments. This role requires a hands-on buyer who can drive end-to-end sourcing, negotiate commercial terms, ensure compliant purchase-to-pay execution, and keep critical engineering and capital programs on schedule and on budget.

What You'll Do- Serve as the primary Indirect Procurement partner for Engineering Services, Supplies and Equipment demand across EMEA, translating business requirements into clear scopes of work, sourcing strategies, and executable purchase packages.

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing for engineering services (e.g., design/engineering support, testing, prototyping services, technical consultancy, and specialized lab/operations support) and engineering supplies (e.g., lab consumables, non-production hardware, development materials) and equipment categories (tooling, fixtures, facility and infrastructure investments).
  • Own RFx processes (RFI/RFP/RFQ): develop bid packages, run competitive tenders, evaluate commercial and technical proposals, and present award recommendations that balance cost, lead time, quality, risk, and supplier capability.
  • Dive deep into supplier quotes and statements of work to challenge scope, pricing structures, rates, milestones, and total cost of ownership; negotiate best cost, payment terms, warranties, SLAs, and commercial protections.
  • Ensure supply activation and on-time delivery for engineering development activities and capital projects, proactively managing bottlenecks, change orders, and expedites.
  • Partner with Engineering, Facilities, Finance/FP&A, Legal, and Compliance to align budgets, approval thresholds, contract terms, and capital equipment spend governance requirements.
  • Manage the full purchase-to-pay lifecycle for assigned categories: requisition triage, PO creation/release, goods receipt / service confirmation support, invoice issue resolution, and spend compliance.
  • Build and maintain a capable regional supplier base for Engineering Services, Supplies and Equipment across EMEA; drive preferred-supplier strategies, framework agreements, and multi-site leverage where beneficial.
  • Track category spend, savings, cost avoidance, and risk; report status, escalations, and opportunities to Supply Chain leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively at a cross-functional level with Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Supplier Industrialization, Legal, Finance, and other Supply Chain teams to deliver seamless operational support.
  • Uphold Tesla procurement policies, ethical standards, and audit readiness across all sourcing and contracting activities. What You'll Bring- You live and breathe procurement. You take ownership of assigned buying demand and ensure Engineering Services, Supplies and Equipment needs stay in control from intake through delivery and payment.
  • You possess a higher vocational or university qualification in a subject such as automotive engineering, mechanical engineering or business management, or equivalent experience
  • Specific diploma’s Supply Chain/Purchasing are preferred
  • Proven 5+ years of experience in Indirect Procurement, with hands-on ownership of Engineering Services and/or engineering equipment categories (equipment, tooling, technical services, project-related spend).
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, automotive, industrial, or high-tech engineering environments is preferred; familiarity with plant/lab operations at a gigafactory or similar large industrial site is a plus.
  • Strong commercial acumen: able to interpret complex SOWs, rate cards, and multi-year service proposals and negotiate cost, terms, and risk allocation.
  • Comfortable operating across multiple sites and stakeholders across Tesla operations specifically in the wider EMEA region; experience with cross-border sourcing and multi-currency contracting is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of P2P / ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and standard procurement governance (DOA, capital expenditure approval flows, contract lifecycle).
  • Analytical, structured, and hands-on — equally effective running a strategic tender and resolving day-to-day PO, delivery, or invoice issues.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills; ability to lead high-stakes contract discussions, challenge constructively and drive decisions at pace.
  • You are fluent in English; German language skills are a strong plus. , Tesla
