Job Summary
This opportunity is a key leadership role within the client's Propel program, which is currently driving the transformation from SAP ECC to S/4HANA. The position serves as a strategic liaison across the PMO, Propel program team, Center of Excellence (COE), Master Data organization, and Supply Chain functions, ensuring alignment between business objectives, data strategy, and system implementation.
The Supply Chain Management Data Lead will play a pivotal role in the Propel program, leading the data workstream within the Supply Chain functional team. This role will have accountability to execute Propel Program master data governance efforts for the Supply Chain functional workstream, provide sign-off around data conversion strategy, data governance plan, data retention and archiving, reporting, data quality assessment, and data cleansing approach and plan.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in supply chain data and analytics, SAP MM, and enterprise data management, with the ability to drive program needs, influence stakeholders, and provide strategic direction. This role requires a deep understanding of core SAP SCM modules MM (Material Management) and EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) as well as extended Procurement solutions Ariba, Fieldglass, and Icertis. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration to achieve strategic objectives and will be responsible for ensuring alignment with Supply Chain and Propel's goals of standardizing business processes, enhancing data quality, and enabling technological innovation for the future state STP design.
The role will initially be an individual contributor position focused on strategy, data governance, and analytics leadership, with the expectation of evolving into a people leadership role responsible for building and managing a team. Experience leveraging AI, developing data-driven insights, and familiarity with natural language recognition technologies are viewed as strong differentiators.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland on business needs or company requirements. This job is also open for relocating candidates and they will be eligible for relocation benefits.
Enterprise Business & Technology Modernization is a cross-functional organization leading the client's Propel program, a major business and technology modernization initiative designed to unlock customer value by simplifying collaborative work processes. Reporting Relationship
The Supply Chain Management Data Lead (Systems Analyst, Principal) will report directly to the Director, SCM Propel.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Governance: Build and enforce standard naming conventions, global metadata rules, and rigid validation logic across the enterprise.
- Quality Auditing: Run routine master data compliance audits to proactively address profile discrepancies or missing fields.
- Lifecycle Migration: Drive technical execution for data cleansing, profiling, and loading during migrations like SAP ECC to S/4HANA.
- Module Integration: Validate functional relationships between foundational materials records and logistics execution modules.
- Stakeholder Management: Translate technical data parameters into operational requirements during functional blueprinting workshops.
- Identify areas requiring data profiling and cleansing.
- Identify data requirements related to reporting and analytics to be designed.
- Identify and engage key stakeholders from various functional areas to support data quality assessment, conversion, reporting & analytics, governance, and archiving process.
- Supports the development of others by coaching on analytical techniques, data gathering techniques, and current system documentation.
- Discovers, analyzes, and documents data issues for future conversion and integration efforts.
- Provides subject matter expertise on projects to implement and enhance enterprise Supply Chain business applications.
- Supports the development and sharing of internal best practices and standards to enhance delivery efficiency, quality, and repeatability.
Required Skills
- Experience with SAP MM (Materials Management) — required.
- Deep understanding of core SAP SCM modules MM (Material Management) and EWM (Extended Warehouse Management).
- Experience with extended Procurement solutions: Ariba, Fieldglass, and Icertis.
- Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration to achieve strategic objectives.
- Understanding of how supply chain data supports and interacts with critical business processes.
- Ability to operate effectively within a large-scale, data-intensive environment.
Preferred Skills
- SAP Module Depth: Advanced functional knowledge of SAP MM (Materials Management) and EWM (Extended Warehouse Management).
- Master Data Domains: Expertise governing specific asset fields like Material Master, Vendor Data, Source Lists, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Analytics Integration: Experience linking operational tables to advanced modules like SAP IBP and Ariba with analytical platforms.
- Experience with merging Large Language Models (LLMs) and data analytics to develop business insights.
- Exposure to SAP PP, Warehouse Management, Snowflake, data modeling, SQL, warehouse repositories, and asset management systems.
- MBA or equivalent graduate degree.
- Proven track record of successfully working in cross-functional projects and teams.
- Able to present highly complex data and findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong change management mindset.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Utility industry experience preferred but not required; candidates from other industries with experience managing complex enterprise data ecosystems of similar scale will be considered.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or related field — or equivalent work experience.
- MBA or equivalent graduate degree (preferred).
Required Experience
- 10 years of related or equivalent experience.

The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to: internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis. This job is also eligible to participate in the client's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
