About This Role
This role involves using analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance supply chain processes. The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations to improve the organization's supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Provide analytical support to one or more functional areas
- Use common processes, tools, and information systems to enable supply chain analysis
- Ensure data integrity of all analytics and reports
- Analyze and interpret Key Performance Indicators to identify areas for improvement and action plans
- Participate in Six Sigma and supply chain improvement projects
- Use existing business systems to provide analytics and reporting that are capable and repeatable
- Manage supply and demand plans using the materials planning system, taking long-term corrective action on exception messages and other alerts based on root cause analysis
- Refer to ad hoc tools such as Excel, Access, TOAD, OMS, etc., in performing problem-solving, while leveraging the materials planning system as the primary tool in day-to-day operations
- Use Plan for Every Part (PFEP) in planning, designing, and management of systems and processes within a facility to ensure delivery of the right part at the right time in the right quantity to the right place, guaranteeing smooth operations
- Apply PFEP principles on the end-to-end supply chain with particular attention to the relationships between master data management, materials planning parameters, engineered material flows, transport management, and warehouse management
- Extract, transform, model, interpret, and present planning data with the goal of mining useful information, troubleshooting, suggesting conclusions, and supporting value-creating decision-making
- Use analytics and algorithms to determine the optimal level of inventory investment across the end-to-end supply chain within specific constraints (warehouse space, customer delivery, etc.)
- Provide guidance and expertise on planning parameter refinement
- Develop inventory strategies to support Cummins' strategy and not just a business unit strategy
- Use advanced tools (e.g., Advanced Planning Command Centre, Business Intelligence (BI) Dashboards etc.) to make decisions related to parts availability, inventory optimization, and root cause analysis
- Operate in relation to recent or historical outputs as compared to organizational expectations to determine next steps to drive improvement
- Assess gaps to the supply chain performance against the expectation of achieving target deliverables
- Interpret KPIs to understand end-customer impact
- Strategically balance trade-offs to influence one KPI while minimizing the impact to others
