Supplier Quality Engineer

About This Role

This engineering role focuses on supplier qualification and development for Generation Core Engine parts, working in a multicultural environment with various departments globally and locally. The position involves collaborating with the global SCM process, utilizing digitalization tools to enhance processes, and addressing nonconformances through containment, root cause analysis, and implementing preventative and risk mitigation measures.

Responsibilities

• Implement and control the support of the multi-functional supplier selection team with required quality data
• Conduct supplier audit and supplier capability or capacity audit and assessment of supplier risk
• Lead multi-functional teams to perform Product and Process Qualification (PPQ) according to applicable process descriptions and standards
• Support the supplier quality measures along the complete process chain
• Plan, implement, optimize, and control the efficiency of the defined Supplier Quality Management Process (procedures, guidelines and tools), to ensure the requested quality
• Coach suppliers to follow Siemens Energy Quality Management Process and usage related tools
• Initiate and implement supplier quality improvement programs, quality root cause analysis and implementation of appropriate risk mitigation measurements at the supplier
• Track implementation and effectiveness of measures
• Participate in design review as main interface of SQM with design engineers
• Conduct design review with suppliers for new design
• Initiate early supplier involvement for new design if necessary
• Support DTL (design to localization) and DTC (design to cost) effort

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering, or related field
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered
• 5 or more years of experience in a technical or supply chain role
• Experience in supplier qualification, product/process qualification, and technical supplier development to ensure a quality, cost-effective global supply base
• Proficient in leading international projects and virtual multi-functional teams, with strong self-starting, strategic, analytical, and intercultural skills
• Extensive knowledge in welding and coating
• Familiarity with ISO & ASME Standards
• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
• Basic commercial knowledge
• Familiarity with root cause analysis and risk management methodologies
• Willing to travel up to 50%
