Duties
Major Duties:
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Plans logistics management workload to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Participates in special logistics management operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments.
Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Determines appropriate recommendations for unresolved or questionable problems and performs follow-up.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience: Must be at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband (NH-02), equivalent to the next to lower grade (GS-11), or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is Life Cycle Logistics experience in USAF weapons systems that are in the Operations and Sustainment Phase; knowledge of the DoD/AF policies, practices, regulations, and laws concerning the acquisition planning and logistics management processes and initiatives; direct experience in supply chain management; experience across all aspects of the spectrum of Product Support is highly desirable. Specialized experience includes: International Logistics, requirements definition, product support management, supply support, support equipment, fielding, maintenance planning and management, training and training support, technical data, packaging and transportation, determining material and financial requirements to meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives related to program milestones and/or international agreements. Supervisory, leadership experience is essential.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Knowledge of the applicable logistics management principles, concepts, policies, and laws; logistics functions, programs, and systems applicable to the duties of position; sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve logistics problems; and all aspects of integrated logistics support.

Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.

Ability to plan, organize, and direct, mentor, motivate and appraise the staff of a small to medium sized organization.

Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options.

Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.

Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Part-Time or Unpaid Experience: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
Volunteer Work Experience: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
