Supervisory IT Specialist (NETWORK/CUSTSPT)

Duties

The purpose of this position is to perform a full range of supervisory functions providing administrative control and technical direction and oversight for subordinate personnel within the Section. Responsible for analyzing customer requirements and managing the systems administration, optimization, operational requirements and maintenance associated with the various local area/wide area networks (LAN/WAN), wireless systems, and voice systems utilized by both Wing and tenant organizations on the base. Manages customer IT requirements to meet operational, training, and readiness missions. Ensures viable training programs are developed for assigned functions.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  The basic qualification requirements are indicated below.  These qualification requirements must be met, in addition to any military requirements, in order to be found qualified for and selected to this position.

**GENERAL EXPERIENCE:**Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (Please prepare written justification to the following KSAs as an attachment to your resume/application):

1. Ability to plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, prepare schedules for completion of work, assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of employees.

2. Knowledge and ability to provide technical expertise and management oversight, in the installation, administration, optimization and operation of multiple large and enhanced complex networks and communication systems, provide IAM II information system management support for all disciplines, ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery of all information technology services. 

3. Ability to develop and recommend technical solutions to mission and customer requirements, define broad objectives as to scope and priorities of projects and requirements in the flight and guides subordinates in the achievement of those objectives.

4. Ability to determine time frames and schedule flight personnel assignments to meet objectives, initiate and lead transition meetings to facilitate customer acceptance of systems and operational aspects of the project. 

5. Knowledge to manage Commissioning and Acceptance requirements for contractor delivered operating systems and services, ensure quality control process is utilized for new and existing contracts.

6. Ability to ensure a review of technical specifications and requirements are accomplished for procurement requests submitted to the contracting office.

QUALITY AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE:  The required amount of experience/education will not in itself be accepted as proof of qualification.  The quality, type and scope of the experience/education must be of such nature as to demonstrate that applicants are fully qualified to perform the duties at the level for which they apply.
