About the role

Duties
The selectee will serve as a Supervisory Intelligence Research Specialist (Protective) in the Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information, Protective Intelligence and Assessment Division. Typical work assignments include:

  • Preparing and reviewing comprehensive recommendations regarding the development and modification of branch policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Planning and directing the work to be accomplished based on priorities, specialized capabilities of the staff and consideration of the difficulties and requirements of various assignments.
  • Conducting continuing evaluations of the effectiveness and adequacy of branch programs, operations, work methods, and techniques; identifying issues, initiating and coordinating research, and preparing/reviewing position papers, memoranda, and other materials
  • Advising higher-level staff on the implications and feasibility of program plans, proposals, and recommendations.

Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-14 level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level performing duties such as: leading a staff in order to plan, direct and coordinate work of others; planning, directing and coordinating protective intelligence collection, production and dissemination; researching and preparing studies and policy decision papers reflective of various protective intelligence research; and reviewing program initiatives and recommending changes.

Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.
