Duties
As a SUPERVISORY IMMIGRATION SERVICES OFFICER (SECTION CHIEF), you will:
- Assign and monitor work involving multiple form types in which you are technically proficient.
- Review and evaluate quality, efficiency, and timeliness of one or more subordinate adjudications.
- Analyze prepared statistical data periodically, identify areas requiring correction, and notify Quality Assurance and Management personnel of issues, suggestions, and actions taken to correct.
- Provide effective leadership to immediate team members, their subordinate team, and the Field Office.
- Support the investigation and prosecution of aliens by providing information concerning illegal activities such as fraud and smuggling.
- Oversee the National Security and Public Safety adjudications programs.
Qualifications
GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
- Providing technical and administrative supervision to a staff of officers engaged in programs administering the Immigration and Naturalization Act (such as Adjudications, Inspections, Investigations, and Border Protection).
- Coordinating and directing the accomplishment of difficult and diverse functions or issues.
- Analyzing and implementing issues related to the establishment of program goals and objectives.
- Establishing long-range work plans and determining the actions necessary to accomplish these objectives.
