About the role
Duties
The Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate (FDNS) was established within USCIS to strengthen national security and the integrity of the country's legal immigration system by closely aligning the adjudication of immigration benefits and services with the identification of potential threats to national security and/or public safety, the detection and deterrence of fraud, and the use of law enforcement and intelligence information to ensure optimal security for U.S. communities. FDNS systematically identifies, updates, and records indicators of fraudulent activities; manages fraud cases; identifies vulnerabilities and other weaknesses that compromise the integrity of the legal immigration system; and coordinates and provides logistical support in law enforcement and national security matters. FDNS is the primary conduit for information sharing and collaboration with law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

- Serve as the FDNS Supervisor for FDNS personnel at a Regional Office and report to the Associate Regional Director, FDNS.
- Direct FDNS Immigration Officers in the conduct of inquiries (system checks, interviews, and site visits) to validate/invalidate suspicions of individuals filing for immigration benefits under application and petition types processed by USCIS.
- Direct FDNS Immigration Officers and FDNS Management Program Analysts in the conduct of systematic comprehensive reviews to determine fraud levels and vulnerabilities in the adjudication process, as well as addressing national security and public safety concerns.
- Coordinate FDNS Immigration Officers' efforts with local, regional, and national USCIS offices, and work closely with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel and function as their local offices' primary liaison with other local and regional, state and federal law enforcement agencies and task forces.
- Perform the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised, establish guidelines and performance expectations for staff members, and prepare plans, reports and analysis of the office's FDNS unit.
