About the role

Duties

The selectee will serve as a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist in the Office of Human Resources, Talent and Employee Acquisition Management Division, Special Agent Support Branch. Typical work assignments include:

  • Managing staff, which includes planning and setting priorities; determining assignments, evaluating performance; and directing the activities of specialists and assistants and to develop their skills and effectiveness in the above program areas.
  • Developing Secret Service policies, procedures, instructions, and guidance concerning the recruitment and hiring processes for various law enforcement occupations of the Service.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-14 level (starting salary $112,021) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level performing duties such as:planning, controlling, directing, and coordinating the work of employees engaged in carrying out the various functions in Human Resources program areas; advising management on process improvements, organizational restructures, budget projections, and staffing and equipment needs; leading a team while collaborating with management on the formulation of short and long range Branch and Division plans, goals, and objectives.

**National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience)**Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. Qualifications Must Be Met: The qualification requirements listed above must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
