About the role

Duties

  • Perform  technical, administrative and management tasks that involves planning, directing, assigning, leading, and monitoring the work of the unit; hiring or selecting employees; managing and appraising employee and organizational performance; disciplining employees; resolving employee complaints; and supporting the development of employees.
  • Make decisions that impact the resources (people, budget, materials) of the work unit, ensure the technical quality and timeliness of the work produced by employees in the unit, and collaborate with supervisors across the organization in unstructured situations.
  • Track and provide statistics on production, and develops a yearly budget.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of innovative geospatial techniques.
  • Develop and secures out-source contracts to further enhance Division geospatial capabilities.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties such as: 1) Manage geospatial data sources to generate custom geospatial products; 2) Develop analysis and plan products for use in support of Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield (IPD); 3) Oversee the development and implementation of innovative geospatial techniques.

Basic Requirements for this position is:

A.Degree: geography; or related physical or social science such as geology, meteorology, economics, statistics, sociology, anthropology, political science, history, cartography, computer science, urban studies, or planning that included at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields.

OR

B.Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in geography, or a related field that included at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
