About the role
Duties
- Manages and serves as local technical expert on procurement and property and supply activities pertaining to asset management (building and structures), personal property, government-owned motor vehicles and heavy equipment, movable property inventory, warehousing, storage, utilization, property disposition, and hazardous waste management.
- Prepares correspondence, technical reports, and develops factual or regulatory information and data required for program operations.
- Manages, instructs and trains personnel engaged in procurement, receipt, storage, distribution and disposal of materials and inventory.
- Manages fleet operations. Assures vehicles and equipment are kept in service and schedules periodic maintenance.
- Performs the full realm of supervisory responsibilities over a staff comprised of property disposal specialist, supply technicians, purchasing agents, and equipment mechanic.
Qualifications
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience or additional education as defined below.
GS-10:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service; or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of higher level graduate level education leading to a PH.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or LL.M. degree in a field of study related to the position.
Foreign Education: To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, applicants must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.
Definition of Specialized Experience: To meet specialized experience, your resume must describe experience that demonstrates the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities as follows:
GS-10: Professional experience in planning, administering and coordinating a supply/property management program or similar program (e.g., inventory management, distribution/storage management); experience controlling, managing and procuring supplies and property, conducting surveys and inventories, recommending actions to eliminate problems, interpreting regulatory and directive supply/property guidance, advising on storage and distribution operations. These examples are not all inclusive.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
