About the role
Duties
Serves as Supervisor of Directorate of Morale Welfare and Recreation, Services Division, Maintenance Branch. Plans, supervises, directs and coordinates a variety of maintenance functions that are supportive to the entire DMWR. Provides for regular maintenance of facilities and equipment and directly supervises the work of the Maintenance Branch workforce. Provides assistance, advice, and recommendations on improvements or repairs to DMWR facilities. Provides Layout on Special Events work to assure timely completion and in compliance with requested specifications.
Provides building maintenance to all DMWR facilities to include replacing floor tile, repairing baseboards; replacing doors and door handles; installing window air conditioning units and providing any other services needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1 year equivalent to at least the next lower level in the normal line of progression.
Supervisory/managerial work experience too include technical or professional work experience in general facilities and equipment maintenance.
Physical ability to inspect facilities such as roofs, plumbing, etc which requires climbing ladders, crawling under buildings, being subjected to heat and cold.
Technical knowledge in such trades as carpentry, plumbing, painting and electrical sufficient to train employees maintenance function in these trade/crafts.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Ability to make cost and budget analyses and project costs of assigned projects.
