Duties
If selected for this position, you will serve as a Supervisory Epidemiologist and Branch Chief, Epidemiologic Evaluation and Research Branch I. Specifically, you will:
- Serve as a recognized expert in the review and analysis of post marketing medical device safety issues;
- Serve a principal advisor to the Director, Division of Epidemiology, and is responsible for planning and coordinating technical programs and activities of the Branch;
- Work toward the development of standards of scientific excellence to enhance the programs of the Division of Epidemiology;
- Provide administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit;
- Ensure that personnel management within the organizational entity under supervision is accomplished without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, handicap, or national origin.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for an Epidemiologist, GS-0601-14 position, you must meet the following:
BASIC QUALIFICATION
Degree: major study in an academic field related to the health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position.
-AND-
ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
You must have one (1) year of specialized experience which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service to include designing epidemiological studies in response to public health issues related to the usage of medical devices and/or radiology-emitting products; and leading teams conducting epidemiological studies to resolve issues.
