5D097S (GS-9 Statement of Difference) - This is a developmental position leading to the full performance level of GS-12. Closer supervision and technical guidance and/or on-the-job training are provided. Duties are gradually broadened so the incumbent is eventually performing all of the duties of the full performance level, position description number 5D095S.
5D096S (GS-11 Statement of Difference) - This is an advanced developmental position leading to the full performance level of GS-12. The duties at this level are characteristic of the full performance PD. Duties will be gradually broadened so that the incumbent is eventually performing all the duties of the full performance level, position description number 5D095S.
5D095S: At the full performance level, the Supervisory Contact Representative (TSC Unit Supervisor) provide firstline supervision and technical direction over the workload processing, procedures, systems, security and personnel in a unit of an SSA Teleservice Center.
Qualifications
Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
For GS-9: Fifty-two weeks of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-7 level. Examples of specialized experience include basic knowledge of SSA programs; provides routine assistance to beneficiaries and address telephone inquiries.
For GS-11: Fifty-two weeks of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-9 level. Examples of specialized experience include knowledge of SSA programs; provide technical assistance to beneficiaries and address telephone or correspondence inquiries.
For GS-12: Fifty-two weeks of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-11. Examples of specialized experience include knowledge of SSA programs; provide technical assistance to beneficiaries, and respond to complex SSA inquiries in writing or by telephone.
This experience must also demonstrate the ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public; exercise tact, ingenuity, and resourcefulness in the development of facts and information; and to work well with others.
