About the role

Duties

   ·   Serves as Supervisory Budget Analyst with responsibility to perform various Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System (PPBES) functions involving the formulation, justification, and execution of budgets in Global Financial General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS).

   ·   Manages and supervises a variety of budgetary programs in support of the population at geographically dispersed field activities throughout CONUS.

   ·   Provides financial advisory services for assigned portions of the command budget.

   ·    Supervises the Overseeing portion of the Budget staff.

Experience required:

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).  You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.  Specialized experience is defined as: analyzing and consolidating budget submissions; maintaining local budget/financial systems; developing annual and long-range financial plans; and assigning work to subordinates within a budget office. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:

   ·  Knowledge of principles, practices, regulations, and policies of budgeting

   ·  Skill in analyzing and validating budgetary data in a variety of appropriations

   ·  Skill in development of budget strategies, prioritization, and distribution of funds

   ·  Skill in developing and defending alternative budget and program actions

   ·  Skill in management of a diverse civilian workforce

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the GS-12 grade (or equivalent).
