Duties
Serves as the Supervisor of a Technical Operations System Support Center (SSC) by planning and communicating the organization's vision and objectives, setting priorities, assigning tasks and responsibilities, monitoring and evaluating performance, developing employees, approving leave, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions as appropriate. Plans and organizes assigned budget, staff and other resources to accomplish objectives for more than one organizational unit/project/program. Applies an advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of directed work assignments an advanced knowledge of budget, human resources, and other administrative policies and procedures. Has responsibility for administrative and technical direction of the assigned staff consisting of specialists, technicians and other FAA support staff involved in providing services to Air Traffic commercial airlines and general aviation aircraft. Responsible to resolve all but unique problems without the intervention of higher-level management. Identifies problem areas and develops and recommends new policies and procedures for resolution.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the J pay band, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year, (52) weeks of specialized experience at the next lower level of FV-I/GS-13 pay band. Specialized experience is defined as experience in the FV-2101 occupation or in a related occupation, which equips the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Additionally, an extensive knowledge of and experience in technology, systems interrelationships, and management of civilian or military automated aviation navigation, and electronics systems is required, and Candidates must show experience at the level of difficulty and responsibility appropriate to the position.
