Duties
Serves as the Air Traffic Manager (ATM) in a Flight Service Station (FSS) facility. Responsible for establishing policies and procedures which apply to day-to-day operations and maintains a general awareness of the overall operational effectiveness. Provides supervision to assigned managerial, supervisory and staff employees. Provides training, coaching, and guidance to subordinates and facilitates team building throughout their areas of responsibility. Reviews work processes to assure that results meet the agency's mission and the customer's needs. Serves as a member of the management team to ensure organizational performance meets agency strategic goals. The ATM provides operational and administrative oversight and support to other satellite facilities.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-J or FG/FS-14. Specialized experience is experience in an air traffic facility which demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the level of work of this position. This experience must have provided a comprehensive knowledge of appropriate air traffic control laws, rules, and regulations. Applicants must be facility rated or previously have held a facility rating in an AFSS or FSS. Applicants must indicate on their application package that they have held or currently have this rating.
