Supervisor, Warehouse

About This Role

Supervising the daily operations of the warehouse and distribution, this role ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant handling of all materials, from inbound to internal movements and outbound finished goods. The supervisor safeguards inventory integrity, optimizes material flow, and drives continuous improvement, while leading a team and fostering cross-functional collaboration to support customer satisfaction and the wider success of the site.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership to the warehouse team, creating a high-performance culture and deputizing for the Supply Chain Manager when required
• Lead and supervise daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inbound processing, raw material flow, accurate customer order picking, and timely dispatch
• Own and drive warehouse KPIs, ensuring they are accurately recorded, reviewed, and used to identify issues; lead corrective and preventive actions to improve performance
• Maintain tight inventory management, ensuring raw materials, WIP, and finished goods levels are accurate, controlled, and aligned with FIFO and ERP requirements
• Manage a cycle count program to meet the required KPI, identify and resolve inventory inaccuracy issues
• Ensure exceptional accuracy in raw material and customer order picking, using robust process controls, checks, and digital tools to support perfect order fulfillment
• Manage warehouse capacity proactively, using inventory control reports to optimize space, material flow, and readiness for production changes
• Ensure safe, compliant handling and storage of dangerous goods, maintaining segregation rules, correct labeling, and adherence to all relevant regulations
• Oversee compliant shipment of hazardous products, ensuring authorized HAZMAT carriers are used, and all documentation, packaging, and labeling is accurate
• Lead continuous improvement activities, encouraging idea generation, implementing improvements, and demonstrating measurable benefits while supporting team involvement in CI processes
• Develop and support colleagues, providing training, coaching, regular performance feedback, and development opportunities in line with the organization’s GPS framework
• Manage employee absence, ensuring proactive monitoring, timely return to work meetings, early interventions, and consistent application of policy
• Manage and develop talent, including succession planning and ensuring cross-training to build team capability and resilience
• Champion 6S and workplace organization, ensuring the warehouse and yard are consistently clean, safe, and organized
• Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System, internal procedures, and warehouse-related quality requirements
• Represent the Company as a leadership role model, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and conduct aligned with STERIS values
