About the role

Duties
You will serve as Operations Division Chief and senior technical advisor within the Brigade S3. Plans, analyzes, reviews, coordinates, and integrates the actions necessary to implement the Army's Enterprise Automated Information Systems (AIS) architecture with and associated infrastructure and information systems assigned to the brigade and its geographically dispersed supported units. Rigorously reviews complex and controversial Army and DoD major networks and infrastructures in support of information systems to ensure that they meet 7th Signal Command (SC) and brigade needs and are consistent with Army architectures and are accurately translated into reliable and defensible requirements for inclusion in the Army's Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System. Supervises and directs efforts of teams of Information Specialists engaged in the conduct of planning, programming, budgeting, engineering, implementation and operation and maintenance (O&M) of networks and AISs. Resolves technical aspects of highly complex enterprise information systems infrastructure and enterprise automated information systems implementation with respect to problems in synchronization, site surveys, interface to other systems and compatibility with or removal of legacy systems.

Qualifications

Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Knowledge in directly supporting and enforcing the mission, priorities, and requirements of the director; Knowledge of planning, analyzing, reviewing, coordinating, and integrating the actions necessary to implement an Enterprise Automated Information Systems (AIS) architecture with and associated infrastructure and information systems assigned to a large organization and its geographically subordinate organizations; Knowledge in information systems infrastructure and enterprise automated information systems implementation with respect to problems in synchronization, site surveys, interface to other systems and compatibility with or removal of legacy systems. Experience directing teams in support of diverse system architectures and system designs between various functional areas of automation and communication systems to assure interoperability and compatibility - AND - I have IT-related experience which demonstrates each of the four competencies as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. (2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. (3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. (4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level position in the federal service (GS-13)
