Supervisor - Fund Accounting - Real Asset Accounting

About This Role

This role focuses on maintaining financial books and records and preparing financial statements for real assets within the fund administration sector. It involves supervising junior staff, coordinating client deliverables, and acting as a primary contact for onshore stakeholders. The position suits an experienced accounting professional with strong leadership and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain books and records
• Review and/or prepare financial statements and associated reports, including performance metrics
• Review and/or calculate carried interest/performance/incentive fees
• Coordinate and/or process payments and other transactions
• Supervise junior staff, reviewing and signing off on work performed
• Act as a primary day-to-day contact with onshore stakeholders
• Monitor Senior/Fund Accountants
• Identify areas for training and development
• Assist Senior Vice President to coordinate team to meet recurring and ad-hoc client deliverables, including year-end process with respect to audit timelines, financial statement preparation, regulatory filings, tax services etc.
• Participate in projects that may be defined from time to time in connection with the continuing expansion and evolution of the business
• Identify and escalate any material issues affecting service delivery to the Assistant Vice President
• Perform any other functions required as part of the business of the Company, and reporting to the Assistant Vice President

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business related area and/or studying for a professional accounting qualification (i.e. CA, CPA equivalent)
• Minimum of 6
• 8 years
• experience in accounting for the financial services sector, particularly Real Estate, Asset Management or Fund Administration
• Experienced in reviewing and preparing general ledger and financial statements
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English (both verbal and written)
• Motivated, bright and diligent individual who is driven to meet deadlines
• A team player who is able to manage individual responsibilities
• Supervisory skills with experience in managing and/or leading staff for 2 years
• Strong business acumen
• Good client/ business relationship management
• Sound judgment, problem solving and analytical skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of IFRS and / or US GAAP
• Established knowledge in relation to accounting and consolidations under IFRS
• User experience with Yardi accounting system(s)
