About This Role
This role is with a leading commercial construction company and involves assisting the estimate lead throughout the bid process. The position focuses on managing and coordinating incoming bid information while learning to prepare detailed pricing for various project disciplines. It suits a candidate with experience in construction scheduling and estimating.
Responsibilities
- Understand the importance of interacting with and maintaining positive working relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors
- Participate in organizations that serve to promote the interests of the company
- Represent the team at pre-bid meetings and site walks/surveys
- Review design documents to determine necessary trades required for bidding a complete project
- Prepare detailed scope sheets for individual disciplines on large projects, using the same approach for all disciplines on smaller projects
- Communicate clearly with subcontractor partners
- Develop a working knowledge of material unit costs, systems unit costs, and buildout square foot costs
- Have a working knowledge of all plans, specifications, and documents assigned
- Become familiar with all policies and procedures as they relate to this position
- Gain understanding of the requirements of working within various buildings throughout Atlanta
- Manage incoming invitations to bid by organizing and distributing information as it is received
- Issue invitations to bid to subcontractor partners
- Receive and organize incoming subcontractor bids for review by the team
- Identify, coordinate, and track key dates and deliverables
- Assist in maintaining internal historical cost, project, and subcontractor databases
- Assist the entire team (Business Development, Project Management, Marketing, etc.) with the generation of preconstruction material for presentation purposes
- Actively participate on internal team(s) which focuses on continuous improvements of the business and its processes
Requirements
- Experience as a Construction P6 Scheduler
