About This Role
This position is for an experienced Commercial Superintendent in Los Angeles, CA, responsible for overseeing retail construction projects from mobilization through completion. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day field operations on commercial and retail construction projects
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
- Maintain project schedules and coordinate upcoming activities
- Lead daily site meetings and communicate project updates
- Review plans, specifications, and project documents
- Coordinate inspections and ensure work is completed according to plans and specifications
- Monitor project quality and address issues in a timely manner
- Maintain a safe and organized jobsite
- Enforce company and OSHA safety standards
- Track materials, deliveries, manpower, and site logistics
- Identify potential scheduling or construction issues and work with the project team to resolve them
- Coordinate with Project Managers, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Maintain daily reports, site documentation, and project records
- Assist with project closeout, punch lists, inspections, and turnover
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial construction experience preferred
- Previous Superintendent experience
- Strong retail construction experience highly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling and sequencing
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of OSHA and jobsite safety requirements
