About This Role

This substitute teacher role supports Pre-K through 9th Grade classrooms, ensuring continuity of learning and creating a positive, engaging environment. It suits enthusiastic, flexible, and caring educators, whether experienced, retired, or new to progressive education.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom activities using lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
• Encourage student curiosity, collaboration, and problem-solving
• Support students' academic, social, and emotional well-being
• Communicate with school staff regarding the day's activities and any important classroom updates
• Uphold the mission, values, and expectations of the Foothills community

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred (or current enrollment in a teacher preparation program)
• Previous experience working with children in an educational or youth-focused setting is preferred
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to adapt to different grade levels and classroom environments
• A collaborative mindset and appreciation for project-based, student-centered learning
