About the role

Duties

At the full performance level (GS-03) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Receives and directs telephone calls or visitors.
  2. Processes incoming and outgoing mail.
  3. Maintains a filing system containing both hard copy and electronic documents.
  4. Locates, gathers and provides to requestor, files that need to be retrieved from various filing locations.
  5. Uses computers and a variety of office equipment (this includes printers, copiers, fax machines and scanners) to develop correspondence, spreadsheets, memos, forms and other standardized documents.
  6. Performs data entry for a variety of administrative functional areas such as: budget and finance, travel, property, purchasing and supply.
  7. Assists with keeping records for time and attendance, posting of fiscal expenditures, receipt and ordering of supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

To be eligible for this internship all of the following requirements must be met:

  1. You must be at least 16 years of age
  2. You must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a degree or certificate program at a qualifying educational institution on a full or part-time basis.
  3. If enrolled, you must be in good academic standing (At least a 2.0 GPA)
  4. You must provide a transcript (official or unofficial) and proof of enrollment/acceptance.

NOTE: You must continue to meet these eligibility requirements throughout the duration of your appointment under the Pathways Internship Program.

In addition to qualify for the GS-03 level, all applicants must have completion of 1 full academic year of post-high school study by May 31, 2017.
