Student Success Coordinator

About This Role

Leading the company's 504 and Child Find processes is the core of this role, working closely with families, teachers, school psychologists, and school leaders. The Coordinator ensures students who may need additional support are identified early, connected to the right pathway, and served in compliance with state and federal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for teachers, leads, and families regarding parent requests for special education evaluations, inquiries on current 504 plans or eligibility, and SST referrals
• Monitor and respond to communication regarding 504/SST/NAM inquiries within 24 hours
• Communicate with GE teacher and request student input prior to scheduling meetings
• Schedule 504/SST/NAMs with GE teacher, School Psychologist (other providers as needed), and parent
• Send a calendar invite to CAVA personnel invited to attend the meeting including meeting access information, as well as coordinating reminders to be sent to families
• Review all student data prior to the meeting and prepare a summary of the academic performance and teacher and parent input to share at the beginning of the 504/SST/NAM’s
• Facilitate 504/SST/NAMs, share information, ask follow-up questions/clarification, monitor time, and allow for team members to ask questions/provide input
• Document notes during each meeting
• Upload all post meeting documentation to the appropriate location and send documentation to all parties involved in the meeting within 48 hours
• Monitor student progress for reconvene meetings and schedule and facilitate those within a 6-8-week period
• Monitor student progress for students with 504

About the Company

The California Virtual Academies (a network of 9 public charter schools) delivers online/virtual home-based instruction to students in grades TK-12 in California. They use K12, inc. as their curriculum provider for the basis of instruction and teachers provide live instruction via the Engageli platform. While their schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are still required to log into the online school daily, complete coursework, and attend instructional sessions.
