About the role
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform Stress analysis for various types of production non conformances
- Stress analysis includes calculation of loads, Static analysis, Fatigue analysis, Damage-Tolerance analysis using hand calculation methods. Damage tolerance analysis experience is must and highly preferred for this position.
- Understand the structure and the repair disposition and come up with analysis approach to qualify/certify the part under minimal guidance.
- Evaluate structural integrity of aircraft components by way of classical hand calculations.
- Generate documentation to report analysis and, test results to support certification/qualification.
- Familiar with regulatory framework (FAA), for warranting safety and regulatory compliance.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Applied Mechanics/Structural engineering and 9 to 12 years of experience in stress analysis.
- Company specific Book 3 Damage tolerance analysis experience (or equivalent) is must & preferred as the work scope would primarily involve performing damage tolerance analysis.
- Experience in Stress liaison & Concession analysis for various types of production non conformances
- Must have experience working with cross-functional teams spread across multiple products and locations within company and external partners.
- Must be flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work with partners from within company and outside, across different cultures and time-zones.
- Communication strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prepare comprehensive reports, proposals. Candidate must be fluent in English, and familiar with MS Office tools.
- Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment.
- Candidate must demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to mentor and teach subordinates and partners to accomplish project and departmental goals and objectives.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- Preferred - Familiarity with in-house stress analysis tools and repair analysis approaches
- Preferred - Experience in structural analysis of various airframe structures.
- Preferred - Experience with structural analysis of metallic and composite structures.
- Preferred - Robust understanding of engineering fundamentals such as material properties, Free-body diagrams, structural loads and analysis methods
- Candidate demonstrates excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills to liaise with several Stakeholders
- Ability to work across functional teams and organizations
- Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience
- Desire to continuously improve our airplanes
Typical Education & Experience:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering and 9 - 12 years of experience in stress analysis.
