Strategy Consultant (Manager Candidate)

About This Role

This strategy consulting role is for a pioneering member of a new type of firm, founded by a former BCG Partner and the honorary chairman of IDEO. It combines traditional, logic- and fact-based strategy consulting with a deep understanding of people and motivation, aiming to move clients, customers, and employees. The role suits a professional with strong delivery skills from strategy consulting and intellectual curiosity to enjoy collaborating with designers and creators. As a right-hand to top leaders, you will have significant autonomy unique to a founding member.

Responsibilities

• Drive project delivery (practical promotion) for complex management challenges, in collaboration with leadership across specialized domains (e.g., company-wide strategy, brand, R&D, organization/HR)
• Design overall projects, manage processes, and control the quality of deliverables in collaboration with project leaders (partners, etc.)
• Build relationships and achieve consensus with client management and on-site leaders
• Collaborate with professionals of different expertise, such as creators and designers
• Engage in cross-organizational collaboration with group companies
• Manage project members (task management, member development, etc.)

Requirements

• Practical experience in a consulting firm (目安：3〜5年以上)
• Experience in strategic projects or BDD at foreign/Japanese strategy firms, strategic divisions of general consulting firms, or boutique firms
• Ability to independently complete issue analysis, hypothesis generation, and work plan design
• Experience leading or sub-leading projects
• Experience building trust with clients through meeting facilitation and projects
• Experience in team management, output quality control, task management, and OJT training

Nice to have:

• Promotion experience within a consulting firm
• Experience in new business development, innovation creation, or company-wide transformation projects
• Experience collaborating with professionals of different expertise, such as creators, designers, and engineers
• Deep knowledge in specific industries (e.g., manufacturing, IT, finance) or domains (e.g., AI, digital)
• Business-level English proficiency
