Strategic Sourcing Specialist

About This Role

As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for the operational elaboration of Quincy’s purchasing policy in terms of quality, price, and delivery performance to achieve the purchasing goals. You will report to the Sourcing Manager and play a key role in ensuring maximum value for Quincy Compressor in our agreements regarding cost, quality, delivery, and service levels.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for all purchasing related activities for assigned categories including sourcing process, price control, proposal analysis, negotiating improved value, awarding and implementing contracts, managing existing contracts, supplier performance reviews, and resolving invoice issues regarding pricing deviations.
• Obtain maximum value for Quincy Compressor in our agreements regarding cost, quality, delivery, and service levels.
• Prepare, understand, and present spend analysis of assigned categories/suppliers, understanding key drivers and trends, along with identifying opportunities and risks.
• Provide prompt and accurate purchasing support to internal customers.
• Follow up on supplier quality performance (together with the SQA engineer) and delivery performance (together with the logistic engineer).
• Analyze and report on market conditions and trends that may affect the price, availability, or quality of purchased products.
• Ensure that suppliers develop themselves in accordance with our quality and logistic demands and always aim for a win-win situation.
• Ensure suppliers are in compliance with Quincy business practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business/Applied Economics, or related field preferred.
• At least 3 years of Purchasing experience required. Experience in a production environment is preferred.
• Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, paint, electronics, wood, etc.) is preferred.
