Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product selections
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for retail sales transactions, including cash register operations and cash handling
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities to maximize sales
- Maintain stock levels through stocking shelves, merchandising products attractively, and organizing displays to enhance store presentation
- Handle retail math accurately for transactions involving discounts, returns, or exchanges while managing cash drawer handling responsibly
- Use effective phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone
- Support team supervision by assisting with training new staff members and supervising during busy periods when needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently in multiple languages (bilingual skills are a plus)
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Familiarity with POS systems and retail store product knowledge to assist customers effectively
- Experience in supervising or leading small teams is advantageous but not mandatory; leadership qualities are appreciated
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves and organizing displays
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to create positive shopping experiences
