Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their shopping journey
- Operate the cash register (POS system), handle retail sales transactions accurately, and manage cash drawer handling with integrity
- Assist customers with product demos, upselling items, and answering questions about store merchandise
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure the store is well-merchandised to attract shoppers’ attention
- Maintain phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone
- Support inventory management by stocking products and conducting stock checks regularly
- Promote store promotions and sales initiatives to maximize sales opportunities through effective upselling techniques
Skills
- Previous experience with POS systems and retail sales transactions preferred
- Supervising experience is a plus for leadership opportunities within the team
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and grocery store operations enhances performance
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction accuracy
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Familiarity with phone etiquette, upselling strategies, and product demos to enhance customer engagement
- Experience in stocking, cashiering, retail sales, and grocery store environments is advantageous
