About This Role

This Store Manager in Training position is for a natural leader who can inspire teams to deliver exceptional customer service. The role involves on-the-job training to manage profitable store operations, maintaining high standards for merchandising and display, and creating an inviting atmosphere for customers and associates.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and hire store associates to serve customers
• Foster the growth and development of associates through training on operations and merchandising, coaching and correcting when appropriate
• Oversee and delegate all store activities to ensure smooth daily operations
• Ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while enforcing company policies and procedures
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Implement operational and merchandising direction communicated from corporate headquarters
• Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution
• Protect company assets
• Maintain a high level of customer service across the store
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years prior retail management experience is preferred
• Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise; BIG BOX experience is a plus
• Strong productivity management in freight processing is required
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Must be able to lift up between 30 to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation
