About the role
Role Overview Responsible for managing store operations, staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations to ensure effective implementation of processes such as ordering, stocking, merchandising, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Hire, train, and retain qualified employees, ensuring proper staffing and compliance with labor laws.
- Conduct performance evaluations, address gaps, and recommend pay and advancement opportunities.
- Maintain store safety, cleanliness, and organized presentation of merchandise.
- Analyze operating statements to identify sales trends, control expenses, and reduce shrinkage.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, and stock replenishment to meet sales targets.
- Ensure adherence to security and cash handling policies, including cashier accountability.
- Deliver excellent customer service and foster a safe shopping environment.
- Follow company policies and complete all required documentation accurately.
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math calculations.
- Knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, and merchandising practices.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing, and employee counseling with legal compliance.
- Preferred high school diploma and retail management experience.
- Ability to solve problems and adapt to varying situations.
- Bilingual (Spanish) skills may be preferred depending on location.
Physical & Work Environment Frequent walking, standing, and bending; handling merchandise and equipment; lifting up to 55 pounds; occasional climbing; and driving for store-related tasks. The environment is fast-paced with moderate noise, and involves exposure to outside weather conditions at times.
