Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish
- Conduct product demonstrations to highlight features and benefits, helping customers make informed purchasing decisions
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Upsell products and accessories to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining customer satisfaction
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked with current inventory
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking, product rotation, and stock counts to keep the store well-presented
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, offering product recommendations, and practicing professional phone etiquette when assisting remotely or over the phone
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred; supervisory experience is a plus for leadership opportunities
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers in both bilingual and monolingual settings
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic retail math for accurate transactions
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and standing for extended periods
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail environments is advantageous but not required
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude
- Basic math skills necessary for cash handling, sales calculations, and inventory management
