About This Role
The Stocker is a key member of the retail team, responsible for managing the store's inventory flow. This role involves ensuring shelves are well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing, contributing to an inviting shopping environment and smooth store operations. Responsibilities
- Manage inventory levels through accurate stock replenishment, stocking shelves, and organizing backroom storage areas
- Operate RF scanners and pallet jacks to efficiently load, unload, and move products within the store or warehouse
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying shipments, inspecting items for quality, and updating inventory records
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and ensuring displays are tidy and inviting
- Perform heavy lifting tasks regularly to handle large or bulky items safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of the stockroom and sales floor by performing routine cleaning and organization tasks
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers in locating products and answering inquiries with clear communication
Requirements
- Prior warehouse experience or retail stocking background preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with inventory management systems, RF scanners, and warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stock control and product placement
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physical demands of the role
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and assist customers effectively
- Previous experience in grocery stores or retail environments involving shipping & receiving, merchandising, or cashiering is beneficial
