About This Role
This role involves stocking and straightening merchandise, maintaining clean aisles, and providing excellent member service in a warehouse environment. The stocker ensures products are well-presented and safely accessible to customers.
Responsibilities
- Spot for forklift drivers to keep people out of the fall-danger zone
- Follow all safety and security procedures, such as lifting properly and correct compactor operation
- Follow merchandising standards and practices: align product, collect and return stray items, stock to maintain high product levels
- Communicate with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plans and priorities
- Write a list of products to be brought from steel, by forklift driver, for stocking
- Use box knives to cut boxes for display/accessibility of product and to cut twine or shrink-wrap from pallets
- Wrap or tie and tag pallets to be returned to steel
- Stock opened cases on shelves
- Move and position pallets of merchandise using a manual pallet jack
- Stack product from partial pallets onto full pallets
- Set up display models, assembling as necessary
- Modify displays for safe handling by members, e.g., bolting heavy equipment, taping blade edges
- Pull loose cardboard and slip-sheets from the floor
- Clear the sales floor of debris and sweep
- Remove empty pallets from the sales floor
- Operate cardboard baler and trash compactor
- Help members to load large items into their cart, direct members to products, relate product status knowledge
- Ensure proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials
- Operate vehicles, equipment or machinery
- Assist with department duties as necessary
- Assist in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
