About This Role
This statistician role involves gathering and compiling statistics, conducting statistical research and analysis, and developing new systems to meet user needs. The position also includes managing and analyzing large datasets to optimize processes and support policy-making.
Responsibilities
- Gather and compile statistics in one or more specific fields
- Conduct statistical research and analysis
- Develop new systems and indicators to support users' statistical requirements
- Manage, analyze, and make sense of large amounts of data from various sources
- Optimize statistical processes and derive more insights from data to support policy-making
Requirements
- Possess knowledge or experience in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Accountancy, Actuarial Science and/or subjects with substantial quantitative content (e.g., regression, analytics, modelling, forecasting)
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to learn and apply relevant statistical and analytical tools and techniques for data compilation and analysis
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Able to work well both independently and as a member of a team
