About This Role
This Statistician role contributes to active research projects in physical, life, and socioeconomic sciences by providing expert statistical analysis and technical support. The work involves designing data collection protocols, managing datasets, system programming, and producing insightful reports to ensure the accuracy and value of critical research outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Plan and document computer data file structures
- Develop, program, manage, and maintain complex statistical databases
- Perform or supervise data entry
- Select data samples, prepare questionnaires and surveys, and conduct logic checks to uphold data quality
- Use established statistical software and a range of standard methods to gather, analyze, and interpret data for research applications
- Format data and prepare reports, charts, tables, and related visual materials to communicate findings
- Collaborate with fellow statisticians in designing studies, developing statistical methodology, and executing data analysis
- Assist with project planning and coordination alongside clients and internal teams
- May supervise students or data entry personnel on assigned research tasks
- Perform other job-related duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a role directly aligned with the listed duties and responsibilities
- Additional completed degrees from accredited institutions may be considered as equivalent experience on a year-for-year basis
- Proficient in designing, programming, and managing complex statistical databases
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled in applying statistical techniques to support scientific research and data modeling
- Competent in data formatting, reporting, and interpretation
- Understanding of programming logic and data structures
- Familiarity with statistical sampling and survey methodology
- Experienced with tools such as SAS or similar statistical software
- Competent with common software such as databases, spreadsheets, word processors, and presentation tools
- Deep knowledge of statistical research processes, methods, and best practices
