About This Role
This role is for an experienced HVAC Service Start Up Technician who will ensure clients' homes and offices are comfortable. The technician will perform installation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation, air conditioning, and environmental control systems, working collaboratively with other employees.
Responsibilities
- Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment
- Replace faulty thermostats, wiring, and controls
- Reassemble and test equipment after repairs
- Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring
- Lay out and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment according to wiring diagrams, using electrician’s hand tools
- Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions
- Adjust system controls to settings recommended by the manufacturer to balance the system
- Install auxiliary components to heating-cooling equipment, such as valves, air ducts, and dampers
- Perform general or preventive maintenance procedures such as cleaning or vacuuming equipment
- Install and test automatic, programmable, or wireless thermostats to minimize energy usage
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Work overtime and be on-call
Requirements
- Minimum of a High School diploma
- EPA Universal Certification with 1-3 years of overall professional experience as a Startup Technician or similar role in an HVAC-related environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Working knowledge of materials, and operation and maintenance of specialty equipment utilized for the installation of these materials
- Clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and strong decision-making abilities
- Good communication and presentation skills
- NC Driver License: 1 year (Preferred)
- HVAC experience: 1 year (Preferred)
