About This Role
This role is for an entrepreneurial leader to act as a mini-CEO, identifying, developing, and scaling new product lines and ventures within Formlabs. It involves deep ownership over outcomes, spanning the entire product cycle from R&D to global-scale shipping across various business functions.
Responsibilities
- Rapidly identify, develop, and scale new product lines and ventures within Formlabs
- Define product strategy and vision, acting as the ultimate Product Owner
- Create products and services that define the future of digital manufacturing by identifying unmet user needs and high-potential market gaps
- Drive P&L results by identifying new market opportunities and scaling existing business units
- Create and lead multi-disciplinary teams of talented engineers, operators, and designers
- Hire and mentor the next generation of Formlabs leaders
- Make crucial, high-stakes decisions that directly impact core technology and business trajectory
- Work at the intersection of complex disciplines (engineering, sales, manufacturing, marketing) and take full ownership to get the job done
Requirements
- Tinker or ex-co-founder who thrives on complexity and gets results
- Possess a “get it done” mindset, with the hustle to do whatever it takes (pitching a customer, setting up a supply chain, debugging a prototype)
- Excel at both hiring and leading teams
- Energized by a constantly changing, high-standard environment
- Proven entrepreneurial experience, such as previously building a business or significant venture (technology startup experience is ideal)
- High tolerance for risk and a bias for action
- Comfort with breadth, with direct experience creating multi-disciplinary technology products
- Understanding of the full product lifecycle from ideation to scale
- Entrepreneurial experience, such as founding your own business
- Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Degree, or related
Nice to have:
- MBA or experience in a consulting role
- Experience with 3D printing technologies and materials
- Familiarity with manufacturing, regulatory, or product standards and compliance in industries like healthcare, pharma, or life sciences
- Familiarity with Tableau or SQL
