About This Role
Serving customers at the Starbucks counter inside a Food City store is the core of this role, which involves preparing quality beverages and products while maintaining a clean and comfortable environment. The position suits someone who enjoys providing prompt and courteous service.
Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient and courteous customer service at all times
- Take customer orders, ensure orders are completed in a timely manner, and to the customer's satisfaction
- Prepare, bag, pour, and stock Starbucks products, rotating items to ensure product quality and safety
- Maintain a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and fellow associates
- Engage with customers, offering product information, using suggestive selling techniques, and sampling products
- Process cash register transactions using the POS system
- Provide quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards
- Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge to promote the culture, values, and the mission of both Food City and Starbucks
- Consistently operate tools and equipment, following all routine and safety procedures
- Follow company food safety program and food-handling procedures
- Attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to learn how to mix a wide variety of coffee and tea products
- Ability to learn the ingredients that go into various products
- Ability to work with various Starbucks ingredients including various coffees, teas, spices, nuts, flavorings, sauces, and oils
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions
- Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks
- Ability to have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
- Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies
