About the role
Duties
If selected for this position, you will serve as a Stakeholder Manager for the Office of Security Operations (OSO), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Stakeholder Manager, you will serve as the lead liaison for the Federal Security Director (FSD) and various stakeholders concerned with aviation security policy.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Planning, coordinating, and implementing effective strategies to establish and maintain a program to communicate to stakeholders the TSA's policies, programs, and activities.
- Identifying and responding to stakeholders' questions, problems, and concerns.
- Working closely with leadership to develop and implement stakeholder information policies and programs.
- Analyzing TSA's communication needs and recommending programs and technologies needed to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
- Interfacing with security policy stakeholders to gain a full perspective on all aspects of the innovations and "lessons learned" to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of aviation security policies.
- Providing technical and administrative direction to the staff.
Qualifications
To qualify for the SV-J Pay Band (equivalent to GS-14), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-I Pay Band or GS-13 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in private sector experience. Specialized Experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience includes working knowledge of evaluation methodology, formulation of objectives and strategies in order to meet goals, identifying and analyzing issues resulting in solutions and recommendations, and the ability to consider and respond appropriately to the customer service needs of a variety of stakeholders.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Note: Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
