Description
The Department of Computational Medicine is looking to hire a staff research associate to support two complementary projects: (1) preparation and characterization of mammalian cell lysates overexpressing human cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes to enable computational discovery of novel enzymatic reactions, and (2) molecular biology studies of ZFP36 family RNA-binding proteins and their role in post-transcriptional regulation of lipid metabolism. The position also supports general laboratory operations, including inventory and supply management, equipment maintenance, safety compliance, and waste management
Salary range: $30.12 - $35.92
Qualifications
Required:
- 1+ years of hands-on experience in a molecular biology or biochemistry research laboratory, including PCR, cell culture, protein isolation, and western blotting, or related coursework.
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and transfection, including production of protein-overexpressing cell lines or lysates, or related coursework.
- B.S. in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology; Biochemistry; or closely related life science field.
Prefered:
- Experience with cytochrome P450 enzymes, enzyme activity assays, or LC-MS sample preparation, or related coursework.
- Experience with mouse handling, tissue collection, atherosclerosis aorta dissections, or related coursework.
- Experience in a university or academic research environment.
